How it counts. The estimator strips
punctuation, lowercases each word, then counts vowel groups
(runs of
aeiouy) — that's roughly one syllable
per group. Silent e at the end of a word (like,
made) is removed; short words (≤3 letters) are
capped at 1. It's a heuristic — works on ~95% of common
English words, can misfire on unusual spellings or
non-English text. For songwriting flow-matching it's plenty
